Red root floaters are very easy to care for as long as they are in aquariums with very low surface agitation. The main reason people don’t have success with this plant is because there is too much flow or bubbles that get the tops of the plant wet; it doesn’t like that. Otherwise it is highly tolerable! This plant is very hardy and will grow well in a large range of pH values as well as lighting from low to high, and CO2 is not required for it to grow well. In low light environment it will grow green with pink roots, and in high lighting the entire plant will go burgundy red.
